Jersey 60th Liberation

So I was invited out to the Jersey 60th Liberation, took my Kubel and had a fantastic time driving around the Island, visiting bunkers, showing Kubel off, and even managed to get into battle!!

While I was out and about I met Theo Krausen and his wife, Theo is a German veteran that was on the island during the war, this photo was taken on top of the naval command bunker at Noirmont Point. (LOTHRINGEN) Theo was stationed on Jersey from April 1941 till May 1944... I also managed to get the Kubel on local TV showing Theo and his wife looking around it!

I managed to find a war time photo of Theo in a book I had!

Yes I was next to a Schwimmer!

Note the observation tower in the back ground, these were used as range finders (later used by Jersey Radio)

Well we all had a fantastic time in Jersey, and full credit to all involved in organizing the military events at St Peter's.

A big thanks to my good friend's Pete and Gill for putting us up.
