Cut out other side rear door area 21/02/02

Bit more work carried out on rear door area

Anyone got a good photo of this area? I could do with one to get an idea of finished shape (Triangle bit)

Going to build bottom part out of shaped steel till I change the complete outer cill

Door profile jamb I am going to build as a temporary measure till rear is changed

Note the love and care taken cutting out the old part not bad for first time attempt, Just got to leave allowance for door.

Note the rear section is same height as door, I am looking at changing this at a later date. but for now I am going to build the door area myself till I can afford over £1000 for rear complete body section (unless you have one to sell me cheaper!!!)

First attempt at rear doors below

OK so I have started to cut out the rear door area, Jesus this was hard going, Its been rebuilt with 2mm steel plate. The next problem is that I think under the U channel there is nothing there, also the replaced inner body stiffener is 5 mm the wrong way! which means I am going to have to refabricate this as well. Its also going to be hard to cut out the bottom triangle without damaging whats behind it. Now getting to cold to work in the garage so have to leave it for a day or so.
