2005 Land Rover 110 TD5 Pickup

Engine:2.5 L  5 cylinder Diesel out put 122 hp

Transmission: 5 speed X 2, permanent 4X4 with center Diff lock

Suspension: Beam Axle, coil spring with shock each wheel

Brake: Discs front & Rear

Max speed: 130 Km/h

pic1History: In 1983 Land Rover launched the most significant development of the basic vehicle since its debut after period of capital investment and restructuring of the manufacturing operation centered at Solihull.
The new vehicle, 110 one ten with all new chassis and driving system. as the 109 is very very old and no one want in the market, too many competitors from Japan.
A very useful & reliable working 4 X 4 since 1984, A all new ladder chassis with very good long travel coil suspension make the 110 be a pic1find off roader , and a new 5 speed manual gearbox with a full time 4x4 system and centre diff lock , with Hi and low range transfer case , front disc brake. power steering ,one pice windscreen, with wide wheel arches, like 1970s Range Rover Chassis and suspension. But engine still use the old 2.25 Gas, or 2.5 Diesel, or a 3.5 twin SU carb V8.Until mid of 80s, a 2..5 gas and a 2.5 Turbo diesel be the STD of 110 and also for the new SWB 90.. at 90s with a 200TDI and 300TDI Diesel Turbo motor and a  new 3.9EFI V8 and rear disc brake be a STD of all 110 and 90.but all Land pic1Rover V8 drank too much and also lacks performance ,until 1999 a new 2.5 TD5 be STD of all 110,90 and130.ABS and front door power window, alloy wheel as an options. But the Defender still lacks performance on the motor way and engine remains rather noisy and speed is still low than other competitors. The Defender could do better, for instance if equipped with front and rear axle diff locking system like Mercedes G or a more capacious ,and torque Diesel engine like powerful 3.0TDI Prado diesel ,4.0 TD Land Cruiser 70 series diesel. Or use ISUZU 3.0TDI powerful Turbo diesel or even a Mercedes CDI. The main drawback pic1is the interior and poor air condition. It not like a 90s STD. But for me and the some Army vehicle lover, we don't care about the poor interior, poor air-condition, lakes performance on motor way. Because we believe it is a classic army vehicle, not a today's civil 4x4.vehicle..

      2007 a new 6 speed manual gear box with Ford 2.4 TDI put inside the Defender, This make the car a little more power and

      20% faster than the 5 speed gear box. A new Discovery look dash board

      make this new 110/90/130 defender got a little good air condition. But no more cool air front bonnet. The front hood is very high, because of the ford 2.4Diesel motor, many Land Rover lover don't like this hook. Today The Land Rover sold to Tata motor at India already.
