1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
10 year AfterWW second the West German economy began recover,Volkswagen decided to launch a high-end car to meet market demand.Karmann Ghia is a 2+2 4 seat 2 door coupe produced between 1955-1974. This was the third model of Volkswagen after WW 2.karmann Ghia body style by Italy Carrozzeria Ghia, body hand built by German coach building house,Karmann. This production line built beetle convertible and Porsche 914/916 at same time.Karmann Ghia chassis and mechanicals come from Type 1 beetle.flat 4 air cooled 1.2 litre engine with 4 speed gear box fitted at rear, later a 1.3 litre and 1.5 litre upgraded.at end of 60s a new semi automatic gear box as an option, By 1970 it was converted to a 1.6 litre engine.Karmann Ghia got coupe and convertiable body, this was the most faster and beautiful and expensive Volkswagen model at Cold War . The one we got was born in Weat German at end of 1972 than export to Japan, fitted with Air condition in Japan. 1973 this car export to Australia. 2017 this car been import to HK by a VW lover Mcintype David.
